If you have a computer with the last version of Windows 11 (update 24H2), the CISA Reader App, as installed from AERO repository, might not run.
CISA Reader App 1.6.1 needs an operating system command (WMIC - see below for more info) which is disabled by default in this version of Windows.
Here you can find version 1.6.4 of the CISA Reader App, which solves this issue.
Alternatively, it is possible to enable the WMIC command, but CISA recommends to install the new version of the CISA Reader App.
Download and install CISA Reader App version 1.6.4.
This version is recomended for Windows 11 update 24H2.
Windows Management Instrumentation Command (WMIC) is a service of the Windows operating system which is disabled
by default on the last version of Windows 11 (update 24H2).
CISA Reader App 1.6.1 needs WMIC to retrieve some parameters of the computer on which it is executed (e.g. the BIOS serial number).
In Windows 10 and in the first versions of Windows 11 this service was enabled.
In Windows 11 it is disabled, and it can be enabled on demand (Feature on Demand).
If you install the CISA Reader App 1.6.4 it is not necessary to enable WMIC.
For any help, here is a guide from Microsoft on how to enable WMIC on demand.
