How does the electronic lock work?

The eSIGNO electronic lock is composed of an external handle plate and an internal handle plate.
The handle of the internal plate is always enabled.
The handle of the external plate is normally released from the lock (it rotates freely without opening); enabling to open the lock is controlled by electronics of the lock.
In the upper part of the external plate, above the handle, there is a reader, that allows the electronics of the lock to comunicate with the cards that are approached.

Opening from outside

1

Hold the card up to the reader of the lock for about one second, in order to allow a proper comunication.

2

If the card is valid, the handle engages the lock allowing the door opening.
The lock emits 5 green blinks.

3

Rotate the external handle in order to open the door. After few seconds, the handle is released.

Operation from inside

1

The internal handle is always enabled.
If the lock has the panic function, the handle activates the latch and the deadbolt.

2

Some models of electronic locks have the "DO NOT DISTURB" function.
This function is designed for guests of a hotel, that, once inside the room, can prevent the door opening by the staff.
It is available in two versions: with the PRIVACY button or with the mechanical knob.

Plate with PRIVACY button

If the plate has the PRIVACY button, simply press it to activate the DO NOT DISTURB function.
The lock emits red blinks both inside (from the PRIVACY button), and outside, advising the staff whether guests are present in the room. The cards programmed without the OVERRIDE PRIVACY option cannot open.

You can disable the DO NOT DISTURB function pressing again the PRIVACY button, or opening the door.

Plate with mechanical knob

Turn the knob to release the latch and enable the DO NOT DISTURB function.
The lock emits red blinks outside, advising the staff whether guests are present in room.
The cards programmed without the OVERRIDE PRIVACY option cannot open.

Turn in the opposite direction to open the bolt and disable the DO NOT DISTURB function.
