New UNIKA key

CISA AP3 UNIKA is the key associating the AP3 mechanical system, patented and with duplicates only obtainable from CISA and CISA Solution Partners, with a new key bow equipped with a transponder, which can open electronic access control devices.
With AP3 UNIKA you can combine AP3 master key systems and electronical systems.

As regards the mechanical part, the AP3 UNIKA keys are provided arranged to open the doors with mechanical devices (cylinders, padlocks, ...) according to the agreed specification.
Each key is identified with a code marked on the neck of the key.

As regards the electronic part, the AP3 UNIKA keys are provided with any initialization.

For these reasons, the AP3 UNIKA keys are listed in the key list with the status "Undetermined".
To program an AP3 UNIKA key for the first time you must specify the code marked on the neck of the key in order to properly associate the electronic part with the mechanical part.

How to program a new UNIKA key (undetermined)

UNIKA keys are all listed in the Key List. Those you have not yet programmed are in a Undetermined status.

1

Click on the Keys tab. Look for the line corresponding to the UNIKA key to program. The code is marked on the metal part of the key.
To look for a key:

  • you can scroll through the complete list of all keys,
  • you can click on Valid, About to expire or Expired in order to filter the keys in a given state,
  • you can search: fill the code of the key or the name of the user in the Search key or user field, full or partial.

2

It opens the Key info window. Click on Program card button.

3

It starts a wizard.
To start, fill the code marked on the metallic part of the UNIKA key in the Key code field..
When you are done, click on Next.

4

Select the doors you need to open. When you are done, click on Next.

5

Change the Validity end date according to your needs: the key will open the selected doors until 23:59 of that date, after it will be necessary to reprogram it.

You can register to those who you deliver a key in User field, choosing the name from the list.
If you have a lot of person in the list, you can restrict the serch typing part of the name.
If the person is not in the list, you can add it clicking on +.

When you are done, click on Next.

6

Place the UNIKA key to be programmed on the reader and wait: the program verifies that the key is correct, then automatically proceeds writing. At this stage it is important not to remove the key from the reader.
When writing is done, the Summary is displayed.

If you have technical problems, you can see the page I cannot read/write a card

Advanced options

During programming you can choose some advanced options.

Days and times in which the key can be used

You can define which days of the week and at which time shifts the key is enabled to open.
At step 2 – Configuration, click on Days and times in which the key can be used. In the example, we choose from Monday to Friday.
For schedules, you can set up to two shifts. For example: 8: 00-12: 45, 15: 30-18: 45
Note:

  • By default, the keys open all days, 24 hours 24.
  • Times must be rounded to 15 minutes (00, 15, 30, 45).
  • There is a tolerance of 10 minutes before and after the specified interval: if the interval defined is from 8:00 to 12:45, the card will be valid from 7:50 to 12:54.
  • You have to choose at least one day of the week.
  • The beginning and the end of validity may not be equal.
  • To get a card with 24 hour of validity it is necessary to consider the 15 minutes of courtesy (beginning 00:00, end 23:45).
  • The time shift apply to all selected days of validity. You cannot set different times in different days.
  • If you set two time shifts, the second must be next to the first.

DO NOT DISTURB option (for electronic locks with PRIVACY function)

The PRIVACY is a feature that some electronic locks have. It is designed for hotels' guests that, once inside their room, can prevent the door opening by the service staff: you can activate it simply pressing the PRIVACY button on the inside of the lock.
When you program a card, with the "Override PRIVACY" option you can decide if a card can ignore the PRIVACY function (it is important for the manager which can open in case of emergency). Usually, in a hotel, service staff cards don't override the PRIVACY, while manager's and guests' cards can override.
Note: make sure that your electronic lock supports this feature.
