Change batteries (electronic cylinder)

The electronic cylinder needs two 3V lithium batteries (CR-2).
Through specific visual signals, the cylinder communicates the batteries' status.

When the battery level is low, the authorization to open, as any other operation, is delayed for few seconds, during which the cylinder emits 3 two-tone red&green blinks.

We recomend replacing the batteries as soon as possible.

If batteries run down further, the cylinder emits 12 two-tone red&green blinks before opening, and could even completely lose the ability to work.

When batteries are fully discharged, the cylinder does not emit any visual signal and it does not open.

WARNING: If the battery level is too low, it is necessary to replace batteries using the external power adapter.

How to replace cylinder batteries when the battery level is low

The batteries of the electronic cylinder are hidden under the cylinder cover.
The cover is held in place by two pins. A specific Service Card must be presented to the cylinder to make these 2 pins retractable.
The cylinder must be initialized in order to react to this Service Card.
Follow the steps below to create the Change Batteries Service Card, replace the battery and reposition the cylinder cover.

1

Click on Doors sheet and then on Cylinders Maintenance panel and then on Change battery button.

2

It starts a wizard.
Place a Service Card CT5 (red card) on the reader, and wait the end of the procedure without removing the card.

3

At the end, take the Service Card set to Change Battery mode and click on End.
The Service Card will be valid until midnight of the day you created it.

4

Go near the door where you installed the cylinder with dead batteries.
We recommend to open the door with an enabled card and leave it open during the battery replacement and the final functional testing.

With the open door, take the Service Card set to Change Battery mode and present it to the cylinder.

The cylinder emits one two-tone red&green blink and two green blinks and one beep.

5

The two pins, that hold the cover of the external knob of the cylinder, become retractable; remove the cover using the special tool.

6

Change the batteries (2x 3V CR-2 lithium).

If the polarity is correct, the cylinder emits one two-tone red&green blink and one beep.

7

Pressing the two pins, enter the cover.
Check that the pins bring in the correct position: they must go into the two holes and align with the cover.

8

Present the Service Card CT5 set in Synchronization mode in order to communicate to the cylinder date and hour up to date.
The cylinder emits one two-tone red&green blink and one beep.

9

Present a  card enabled to open.
Verify the correct operation of the cylinder.
The two pins are now locked, and consequently it is no longer possible to remove the cover.

How to replace cylinder batteries using the external power adapter

When batteries are fully discharged, it is necessary to use the external power adapter, in order to recover the functionality of the cylinder.

1

Remove the disc with the logo using the appropriate suction cup.

2

Plug the adapter, making sure that its pins for power supply are positioned in line with those for the external supply of the knob.
If the position is correct and the batteries are exhausted, the cylinder emits beeps.

3

Without removing the external power supply, synchronize the cylinder.

4

Without removing the external power supply, replace batteries of electronic cylinder.
